Get Involved

This campaign brings together the homelessness sector in NSW to ask the Government to take bold action.

Here are the top 3 ways to get involved:

Join a Local Action Group

This campaign has mobilised the homelessness sector in NSW to form local action groups. We are spreading a united message across the state of NSW, to those that can make change on the issues. If you would like to be involved in the campaign, you can lead or join a local action group and advocate for change to your local MP.

Email campaign@homelessnessnsw.org.au to find out more.

Sign and Share the Petition

Our goal is to present our petition to the NSW Government with over 10K signatures – we need your help to share it. Add your name to the petition, and share the page with your networks frequently.

Write to your local MP

Use the templates in the campaign toolkit to write a letter of advocacy to your MP. Share the story of your service, the challenges you face and your belief that everyone deserves a place to call home.

Everyone deserves a suitable place to call home. But right now, demand for housing and homelessness support in NSW far outstrips supply, leaving too many people without the stability and safety they need.

Invest in the right help, when it’s needed: Increase homelessness services funding by 50%. With the right investment, services can prevent homelessness, not just manage it. Properly funded services can expand their focus from crisis to prevention, delivering a range of early intervention services that make a difference to people’s lives while alleviating pressures on the crisis system. Increasing funding to match the demand services face will also enable them to expand their reach and impact, investing in high-quality crisis accommodation, longer-term transitional housing and wraparound supports.

Support safe pathways from homelessness into homes. Commit to grow social housing by 10,000 homes a year until 10% of all housing is social housing. We need enough social housing to create real pathways out of homelessness crisis. Increasing investment in social housing will help NSW meet future need as well as existing demand.

Add your voice today – together, we can make sure the government listens.
