The information will assist Specialist Homelessness Services (SHS) and Out of Home Care services (OOHC) understand and implement guidelines and requirements regarding planning, managing and responding to COVID-19, to help slow the spread of COVID-19 and provide safe environments for clients and staff.
This policy sets out the approach from DCJ that all service providers must take to consider and manage COVID-19 risks to keep workers and the people they work with safe, including the development of a COVID-19 Management Plan.
DCJ has created three easy-to-read modules for service providers that include clear processes for management of workers and clients exposed to COVID-19, as well as confirmed cases. The modules also include case studies to demonstrate how existing DCJ and NSW Health requirements can be applied in Residential OOHC and SHS settings.
In addition to the modules, this Quick Reference Guide (QRG) has been prepared to support the provision of up-to-date COVID-19 information.The QRG organises links around common COVID-19 related questions, such as where to find the latest information on vaccinations and boosters.
