Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) recognises the skills, knowledge and experience you’ve already gained through your work – no new coursework required. If your day-to-day practice already reflects Diploma-level competency, RPL is how that gets formally recognised. Please note: This program is open to individuals from organisations funded by Homes NSW to deliver SHS, HYAP, Core and Cluster (C&C), and Aboriginal Homelessness Sector Growth Project (AHSGP) programs, with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in the sector.
Nationally recognised qualification
CHC52025 Diploma of Community Services – the same qualification, however you get there.

Gather evidence from your own practice – no classroom study or coursework required.
No cost to you
Fully funded by Homes NSW/DCJ through the Homelessness Industry and Workforce Development supports.
Experienced practitioner
2+ years’ experience in the sector, operating autonomously in their role.
Decision-maker
Makes decisions around case management or programs – many oversee case management or supervise/manage others.
Any leadership stage
From emerging leaders through to those already in supervisory or management roles.
Flexible evidence
Can be up to 5 years old, drawn from different community services – not just your current employer.
Submit your EOI & supervisor endorsement
1–30 September 2026. Your supervisor completes a short, separate endorsement form.
Outcomes provided
By 26 October 2026. Places are limited, so a wait list may apply.
Enrol & induction
Program commences 16 February 2027, with a 2-week induction.
Meet your assessor 1:1
A one-on-one RPL consultation early in the program to walk through the process and answer your questions.
Gather & submit evidence
Upload evidence via the CCWT Learning Management System (LMS) against 20 units of competency, over 12 months.
Feedback & close any gaps
Your assessor reviews your evidence and provides guidance on closing any gaps identified.
Award of qualification
Once all units are met, you’re awarded the CHC52025 Diploma of Community Services.
