Housing and Homelessness Dashboard

Welcome to the Homelessness and Housing Dashboard. Here, we aim to use data to tell the broader story of homelessness as a systemic issue. We hope that this is a useful tool for you to track progress towards the goal of ending homelessness in NSW. To make homelessness a rare, brief and non-recurring experience requires action across a range of complex issues. The Dashboard helps us to understand where our efforts can be targeted to achieve such change.

The Dashboard allows you to select a Local Government Area or region to explore the levels of homelessness (at a demographic level), housing stress, social housing access, inequalities and risks of homelessness in local contexts. You can also compare Local Government Area, region and statewide data to examine trends for further investigation.

The Dashboard is made up of more than 50 metrics from 15 credible sources, with a data sources page and links to data were publicly accessible. Datasets will be updated as they are released. This means that you have access to the latest available data for each metric. You’ll see that some data reflect different time periods given different dates of data collection and release for each source.

This is a work in progress and we encourage your feedback on this shared resource. Please contact admin@homelessnessnsw.org.au to share your feedback.

pride flag

Homelessness NSW is a proud LGBTIQ ally and understands the intersectionality of how risk and experience of homelessness further disadvantages people in the LGBTIQ community. Data on this page only shows data for ‘male’ and ‘female’ as this is the only data available and collected from the available data sources. We will continue to advocate for datasets to be inclusive to appropriately represent experience of Homelessness among the LGBTIQ community.
